These awards are co-ordinated by the British Educational Travel Association (BETA) and an important part of the awards prestige, independence and integrity are our panel of judges

Aside from our People’s Choice and Best Destination public voted categories, all other entries are scored and debated by our carefully chosen judging panel.  Our panel are independent, credible, industry experts and each are chosen for their vast experience in areas of travel, tourism, technology, sustainability, marketing, education and more.

As the judges play such a vital role in these awards, finding the right people with relevant knowledge and expertise is no easy task.  To view the full list of judges for the 2023 British Youth Travel Awards see here

Our judges will meet in early September to debate, discuss and score each individual entry.  All judges will also be given the right to abstain from particular categories if a conflict of interest is apparent.

At the close of the judges meeting they will have decided on the 40 gold, silver and bronze award winners and the finalists will be announced.

The winners of the 2019 British Youth Travel Awards will be announced at the awards ceremony on Wednesday 20th November 2019.
