Congratulations to all of the winners and finalists in the 2023 British Youth Travel Awards

The British Youth Travel Awards are co-ordinated by BETA reward and celebrate the excellent work and high standards that our members and industry stakeholders demonstrate through their work year on year.

From creating new and innovative products and programmes for young travellers, to outstanding examples of customer service and responding to the needs of this important sector – a sector that is worth over £27 billion to the UK economy each year.

Having grown from a single category back in 2007, these awards have matured in stature and importance. For many these awards represent something special, something to work towards and this is demonstrated in the high quality of entries that are received.

Mark Henebury, Department for Business & Trade

Best Customer Service was a tough category as all the diverse applicants are doing such great work! I loved reading about the work and the reviews from happy customers. Very well done to all the applicants!

Lethabo‑Thabo Royds, World Travel & Tourism Council

It has been a privilege to be a judge at the British Youth Travel Awards – the entries have been nothing short of outstanding, showcasing the innovation, dedication and excellence in educational travel. Congratulations to all participants!

Ella Tyler, Lead 5050

After the desperate and disheartening Covid years, I was amazed at how quickly passion, creativity and innovation have returned to the industry. The quality and number of entrants was evidence, if we needed it, that BETA members and their talented staff teams are back and eager to be recognised at the forthcoming British Youth Travel Awards! See you there!

David Walker, Educational & Activity Holiday Expert

A very impressive portfolio of entrants covering the entire spectrum of the youth and educational travel industry. Special credit to those companies who involved quantitative data in their submissions to demonstrate their high levels of customer service. High standards of safety and sustainability are now expected as standard – you need to be doing something very special to stand out and it was inspiring to see such high levels of resilience and innovation as our industry recovers post covid

Joe Lynch, Joe Lynch Consulting

Every year the standard of entries gets higher and this year is no exception. As a judge, I enjoyed reviewing the entries for various categories and derived great satisfaction from knowing that the educational travel sector is offering great travel experiences

Paul Richer, Genesys Digital Transormation

Fantastic applications! I am very pleased to see innovative and creative thinking from all applicants, very well done

Fran Shollo, University of Chester

There are a lot of people working hard to make the world of Educational Travel in the UK the best sector it can be. I am particularly struck by how much genuine care there is for customer experience and connecting communities – it’s right there, in every entry I’ve read. What an honour to be asked to judge these highly competitive awards. Thank you!

Mags Rivett, The Family Holiday Charity
